So the Portu-girl star is leaving....

Real Madrid have twice proven that they have more money than sense in the space of a week.
£80million for Cristiano Ronaldo?? I thought £59m for Kaka was excessive earlier this week! According to manutd.com, it was CR7's desire to leave that made the Red Devils accept this latest bid. Good business on their part I think. In opinion he wasn't even MU's best player this season. Let alone the world's.
I don't think that the Premiership in all honesty aren't losing much. We're losing some flair and a few goals from next season's highlight reel. We are also losing a primma donna, sulking and lazy one season wonder. Admittedly he deserved the World Player accolade that he took home last year,  but since the Moscow final he hasn't reproduced consistently this season. There have been a number of occasions where his lacklustre behaviour have cost Utd goals this season, and he has almost forced Sir Alex to play him as the central striker due to his inability to track back. I'm sure Patrice Evra breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the news that Rooney was ahead of him rather than Ronaldo.
So there was THAT strike in Porto, a few free-kicks and a couple of penalties. There were also those dives, those whinges and those tantrums. I think the Premier League has already seen the best Ronaldo has to offer. It won't be coming back after it went missing last season. £80m is great money for what he can longer give the fans. This will probably open the door for Ribery to make his way to Man U in my opinion.
Good luck to the Portu-girl, and Good Ridance.

Ronaldo is a unique player, and caused a real, noticable stir in football, both good and bad. He will be VERY difficult to replace, and is no doubt a very gifted player. However, Fergie knows what he is doing, and can do well without him. We've seen top players go at United and they've still done well ( a couple of exceptions e.g. the loss of Pique, Heinze were big losses) United are still a major club that top players want to come to. £80m can do a heck of a lot as well. But also think about Real Madrid...Kaka and Ronaldo? Barca are gonna have some better competition!

Considering that Madrid weren't overly far off this season in La liga (although this was down to Barca not being able to capitalise on weaker opponents), the additions of Kaka and Ronnie will be interesting. Apparently Xabi Alonso is next on the list. Now that would be a big lost for EPL and Liverpool, but Imagine the midfield at Real next season....

Sounds like sour grapes. He is a good player and made a big difference to the team but am sure Utd will survive as always have done.

No doubt United will survive without him. And again a good player. I just think you've seen the best of him and enjoys a good sulk. I still think Rooney is your best player and a if it werent for a better attitude from Ronaldo you could've done better this season (Won the title sooner, His selfishness took away so many of your chances in the CL final, and the FA cup)

He was a great player for us no doubt, but like you said he has shown the PL the best he has to offer. A 42-goal season, he won't ever reach that target again at Real imo. Ok he has been sulking and wanted to leave and his misleading interviews showed how unwilling he was to commit to united but how come Fergie was willing to cash in now? Besides the money, he must surely have someone lined up as adequate cover?

Possible Replacements that Fergie would look at:
Luis Valencia
Franck Ribery

or maybe the least experienced brazillian wonderkids suchas:

Douglas Costa, Marquinhos.

Whoever fergie signs will surely be able to step up to the oche and fill the void. Big players have come & left the club but no player is bigger than the club itself.

Well said mate! Glad to see Utd fans agree on this. I personally would love to see Ribery in England, as I've often thought very highly of him. No so much of Valencia though. Likewise I think fergie might unearth a gem a la Da Silvas...

Bayern's asking price is ridiculous imo, what is it? something like £60mill. Thats stupid! I hope Rooney will become more greedy and play upfront (his goal against kazakhstan omg!) and maybe another defender, da silvas will be great full backs but atm evra is great @ LB(makes mistakes he shoudln't be making though) and will brown stay at OT next season?

How sick is Hargo at RB btw!!!

Brown should go in my opinion. He's seen Rafael take his place in the pecking order even if Neville does retire this season. Jonny Evans has overtaken him in the centre, I think he should enjoy the last few years of his career by playing regular first team football at a lower club. Maybe you could flog him off to Arsenal as well?! Judging by the consistent mistakes of their back four last season, he should fit right in...

OOOOOooooooo can't wait for the Gunners responses!!

LOL...Let's get some gooners on here....

Both Wes & Gordon should go imo! LOL!!!

£16m - Valencia
£33m - Ribery
£30m - Benzema

If not Ribery, then De Rossi - they guy is much more of a realistic signing than Xavi or Gattuso

I dont think you'd want Gattuso. You already have Fletcher, Carrick and Hargreaves who can play that defensive midfield role or who can play across the midfield for that matter.

De Rossi could be interesting. Benzema a real possibility! £80m is a lot to spend. No Doubt Alex Ferguson will make good use of it...

No not Gattuso, in the past fergie has tried to get rino but failed on various occasions. But seriously in the euro u21 champs, italy are my faves! i'm sure they'll have no problem in replacing rino & others - most of em play for Juve anyway. (Marchisio, Dessena, Bolzoni etc.)

De Rossi is the only player i like, Totti is a good player an all, but the guy talks out of his arse evrytime utd play em, 7-1 get over it! De rossi is a great holding midfielder.

'Benzinho' needless to say is gonna be one of the best strikers in the world, what he needs is a great club to help him achieve that goal. Where else greater than Man Utd with Fergie to nurture him
